our big 2 year old!

I thought it would hardly be fair to post one of my children's birthdays late and then post the other one on time. Wish that was the real reason I'm so late in posting this!!....truthfully, i'm just slooooow! :)

Max celebrated his 2nd birthday on July 16! He has become quite an adventurous little guy! He will try anything that he sees his big sis doing. He looks up to her so much! He also has a very tender heart and he gives the best hugs and kisses! He still loves his blankie and his thumb....his two best friends. We are so blessed that he is a part of our family!!

Ella is FOUR!!

I'm VERY late in posting this because June and July are busy months in our house. We have 6 birthdays within our family in those two months alone!!

Ella celebrated her 4th birthday on June 14! I can't believe it! Time just seems to have gone by so quickly!! She has brought so much joy to our lives from day one. She LOVES life so much and definitely finds excitement in every little thing...there is rarely a dull moment with her around! We love her so much and are so grateful that we get to call her our little girl!!!

Oh BOY!!!!

We had our ultrasound on Wednesday and found out that Baby #3 is a BOY!!!! We are all very excited! Ella kept saying that she wanted a girl baby, but now she's ready for all the fun of being the big sister to two little brothers. We are still working on a name for this little guy...if Ella gets her way it will be Toto!!! Pretty sure that's not going to happen! :) Here's a little ultrasound pic...perhaps a smidge inappropriate, but oh well!!

CaTcHiNg Up!

Two blog posts in one day! This is quite a record for me. Here are some pics that show what the Whitlock's have been up to the past couple of months.

our first major injury!

Yesterday was quite eventful here. Ella somehow managed to dislocate her thumb!!!! We're still not sure exactly how she did it at this point...she's given us at least 3 or 4 different versions of how the injury occured. I'm pretty sure that some of them are physically impossible....however, we are talking about Ella!

I was at work when it happened, so my mom brought Ella and met me at the Emergency Room so we could get her fixed up. In true Ella style, she had dressed herself (before the accident) in a very COLORFUL outfit! I'm just telling you this so that when you see the pics of her, you will not think that I dressed her! :) Vain...I know! My mom was actually laughing at me because the first thing I asked when I saw her was, "What is she wearing???"

Anyhow, everyone at the ER was wonderful!! They reset her thumb and put it in a splint. Ella did great considering the amount of pain she was in! She received several compliments about what a great patient she was. We will have to go next week and see a hand specialist to determine what will happen next....the ER doctor mentioned either a cast or surgery. Obviously, we are praying that there will be no ligament damage and therefore no need for either of those. We just want the impact to be as minimal as possible. Here are some pics of the little patient.....just remember what I said about the clothes! :) Sorry the quality's not great...I took the pics on my phone.

We're Still Here!

I know it's been FOREVER since I've posted anything on here. We are still here and doing well. Sometime around that last post (Valentine's Day), we found out that we are expecting a third little Whitlock in our house! That (hopefully) explains the lack of activity on the blog. I am finally getting over the first trimester EXHAUSTION, but I'm working full-time right now (for a 6 week class), so I just have regular exhaustion now! :) I will post more soon....I hope! Until then, here's a pic of our family on Easter!

happy heart day!

I took the kids to have pictures taken in their Valentine's shirts yesterday. As you can see, Max was less than cooperative! He is naturally such an easy-going and smiley little guy, but the second you put him in front of a photographer he loses all facial expression! The poor photographer did everything but stand on her head and he just wouldn't even give a little grin. I thought these two pics turned out pretty cute...even if he's not smiling!! Ella was such a trooper! She kept trying to get him to laugh and she did everything that the photographer asked. She earned her icee reward! Of course, as soon as we were done, Max was running around giggling and playing! Little stinker!! Happy Valentine's Day!
